HAPPY 2018

It seems 2018 is already an old one…

I’ve been thinking a while about my first post of the year. Should it be a cooking tutorial (you’re for sure still waiting for Kristof’s recipe of the Gromperekichelcher, aren’t you?!?) or a sewing DIY (hm… I have been working on a unicorn backpack lately…) or the continuation of our Eastern Europe city hopping tour (there are still some stops missing!)… Well I thought now it would be the right moment to look back on my blogger year 2017!

It has been a quite amazing year with normal ups and downs. We’ve been traveling a bit on our own (Nijmegen, Iran and Iceland both reports still need to be published) as well as with our kids (our trail through the Müllerthal, Eastern city hopping tour). I continued my collaboration with Cocottes and created some DIY tutorials for re-using their glass jars in a non-conventional way, but decided to stop my collaboration with Femmes Magazine. In the sewing section, I posted some of my creations and tutorials, but I do still have some more to present you… The food section was completed with some few recipes and the experience of the 4 hand dinner with Hendrik Dierendonck and Aristides Martins as well as with Kristof’s adventure during the Dinner in the Sky … My series about the messy plans of my man have known a lot of success. I do have to remind myself to pull out my camera next time Kristof is working on his next crazy idea… And regularly I had the occasion to work with Delhaize and even meet local chef Thomas Murer of the Aal Schoul restaurant (I still haven’t had the chance to test his restaurant!)

2017 was also the year of the first edition of the Kachen Blog Award. It was really a great experience for me to to take part in the different events (visiting the production site of Schnéckert, the Hôtel Royal, the Hôtel Place d’Armes, etc.) organized by the partners of the award. Even though I was not among the lucky winner, I did win some new friendships with some of my fellow bloggers and that’s even more important!

The end of the year was even very mediated with a whole feature of one of my sewing tutorials in REVUE magazine (Thank you  Mady!!!) and our recipes of the Bouneschlupp with Gromperekichelcher in the December issue of the City magazine. You might even have recognized Kristof and myself in the winter edition of Kachen, Luxembourg’s food & lifestyle magazin in one of the features …

And 2018? Well the new year started the way the old one stopped: the reference of my blog in the January issue of the City magazine related to their DIY feature and my appearance in the new issue of the Belle Etoile magazine on their brand-new blogger page! Both this two mentions did bring me a lot of new and curious readers to my blog: welcome to all of you who did not know us before! Hope you will be sticking with us for a while!
