EASTERN EUROPE CITY HOPPING: PÄRNU (3/9)
Second stop on our journey through Eastern Europe cities is Pärnu, a popular summer holiday resort with many hotels, restaurants and large beaches. Pärnu is for the Estonians what Knokke is for the Luxembourg inhabitants, just without all the expensive shops! Majority of the tourists are Finns, Swedes and Russians. Did you know that Gustav Fabergé, the famous jeweller, once lived there?!? We added this destination specially for the boys to have some fun time at the beach for one day, which they really enjoyed it!
We stayed the late morning on the beach, enjoying the sea and the tourists without the sun, in the meantime the boys were running, scrolling and playing around in the sand. Unfortunately, the weather did not allow us to bath in the sea, that’s why we tried out the Tervise Paradiis Water Park, the largest in Estonia, with 4 tube slides, 4-meter diving platform, and the most impressive sauna department we’ve experienced until now being abroad. Regrettably, we only did a fast a tour through the city centre…
Our coups de Coeur: enjoy an afternoon at the beach or at the Tervise Paradiis, book your stay at the Hedon Spa & Hotel and don’t miss their wellness opportunities and their restaurant, assist to the Baltic edition of the annual Weekend Festival (with artists like David Guetta, Avicii, Steve Aoki, Tiësto, deadmau5) which is the largest dance music festival in Scandinavia and take a stroll around town! And get a glance at the small but stuffed grocery store in the supeluse street…
And I just love those traditional Estonian wooden houses which can still be found all around Pärnu!
To be continued…
